60’s B. Altman Black Wool Coat with Mink Collar by OriginalaBeautiful late 50s'early 60s black dressy coat made by Originala for the luxury department store, B. Altman. The fabric is from Stroock Fine Fabrics, which at the time was a giant in the fashion world of luxury fibers. Although there is no fabric label in this coat (Stroock often did not reveal exact fiber contents), it's likely that this coat is vicuna or llama, at least in part. The collar looks like mink in a very dark brown or mahogany color.
